division and multiplication DLO

In maths I have been learning multiplication strategies.  I have learnt to solve multiplication problem using my 5 times tables. So if I did 8x6 I would do 8x5=40 then 8x1=1 then I do 40+1=41. If I do division 42 divided by 6 I would do 6 times 5=30 then 6x2=12 I get 5 form using my 5 times tables and I get the 2 from 6x2. Then 5+2=7 So it equals 7.

Science

for literacy we have been learning whether but be decided to do a science experiment. We got a bucket of hot water and a plastic bottle. We put a balloon on the plastic bottle so we put the plastic bottle with a balloon and put it in the bucket with hot water in it and it worked

Mindset

During Power Time we have been learning about Growth mindset. We watch a short video about Luke skywalker and Yoda lifting an X-wing out of the lake. Luke had a Fixed mindset. A Fixed mindset is when someone says this is to hard. Yoda had a Growth mindset a Growth mind set is when someone says I can do this I can. We talked what we could say to ourselves to change from a fix mindset to a Growth mindset.  

weather art

This week in art we have been making weather art. This is how I made it first you put white crayon lines with puddles. Then we painted the background blue and black. When the colours dried we put our names on it and hung it up . WALT use crayon and dye to show movement and ripples in a weather feature.

Penguin Art

We have been learning about Antarctica. So we painted a penguin. First we sketched the penguin bit by bit. Then we painted black feathers. Then we painted the yellow and orange feathers. Then we painted the eye and filled the rest of the body white.

In maths we have been learning about symmetry. Reflective symmetry is when you flip a shape and it looks the same. we played the mirror game and used shape to create Reflective symmetry.

Whether in Antarctica

This term we went to the Antarctica center for a school trip. From this trip we than had to decide between animals in Antarctica, The whether in Antarctica or explorers in Antarctica. I chose whether. I created a  Weather Recording Table and a water cycle about Antarctica.

Antarctica animals

This term we went to the Antarctic center for a school trip. From this trip we than had to decide between animals in Antarctica, The whether in Antarctica or explorers in Antarctica. I chose animals. In my reading I read about the food chain and how animals survive in Antarctica. I learnt about different types of animals that live in Antarctica. In writing I wrote a description about one animal that live in Antarctica, I did cape petrels. i also created a food chain and a slide about how diffident animals survive in Antarctica.
