Murder Mystery

For literacy we were solving a murder mystery. Someone in the orchestra has murder Mark, we have to solve how did it. Mark was a cornet player. First we got a suspect list there were 32 people in the suspect list. then we got blue triangle we had to cut them out and put them together, we knew how to put them together because it was opposites. When we did that we got yellow triangle, we had to put them together with word that have similar meanings. Then we got green squares, we had to put them together of beginnings and ending of proverbs. Then we got orange squares, we put them together of idioms. Then we got a white triangle of animals and younger animals and we had to match them. At the end we had one name left, it was Malcolm the conductor. Our group was the first and only to complete the murder mystery.
   

Summer Learning Journey

For summer learning journey we had to pick a destination we would visit and we had to blog why we picked this destination. The destination we selected was Aussie. We picked Australia because we know a lot about Australia. For starters, we already know what the capital of Australia is, It Canberra. If we had to estimate the population of Canberra it would be around 447,692 thousand people. When it is January in Canberra it is usually 14 degrees in the morning and night, but when its the afternoon its about 29 degrees. The capital is Canberra, it is located on the South-East of a Australia. They also speak English.

How To Sneeze Correctly

For heath we did an ow to brush you teeth and how to wash you hands know I did an how to sneeze correctly. First I made the background but I did't have to make the character because I used the same character. I found hard making the background. 

Summer Learning Journey 2018-2019 prize

In the holiday were going to do the summer learning journey. The summer learning journey is about air, sea, land and sustainability. The summer learning help us to stay we we are or move up on our reading and writing. In the summer learning journey we get points, how has the most points win the get the top prize. If I win or get a prize I would like to have a give card.

How To Wash Your Hands

For heath we did an tooth animation now I did a how to wash your hands animation. We also used the tooth brush for you brush you teeth animation. First I had to make a background. Then I made the animation. I found hard making the background. I enjoyed making the animation

How To Brush Your Teeth

For Heath we made a animation, we did an animation about how to brush our teeth. We made a tooth brush animation because we are learning about personal hygiene. First we made the characters for our animation, I made two characters a tooth brush and a person. Then I though what I was going to do on my background and then I made it. I found had making the tooth brush getting all of the details in.     

Illuminated Art

In art we did illuminated letters I did a J because we did the first letters of our name. First I drawed a J in block letter. Then I drawed things about me and coloured it in.

Life Education- boss of leader

In Life Education we are learning about relationship and being with other people. We have done activities in the Life Education bus. We watched a video being the same and we learnt why it is good to be different,Its good to be different because we would not now how is how. We did a personality test and we into groups and I was a loin. We learnt the difference between a boss and a leader. we had to match up the sentence of a leader to the opposite what is boss.

How to make a quality blog comment

For the last 2 weeks we did cybersmart, we were teaching other how to make a quality blog comment. The challenge was to make an animation to show how to make a quality blog comment. A quality blog comment mast have positive, helpful and thoughtful. I found hard making the character for my animation. 

True or False

For maths we did an activity it was called true of false. We had to answer a range of questions.

Line Games Investigation

Last week we asked our principal and caretaker if we could get 6 square in the courtyard. Then we got a letter that is they thought that is was a good idea. Sines they thought that it was a good idea they took it to the board, the board said yes and asked if we had any other idea. So got idea from teachers in our school. After that we put it into a survey for the seniors and went around the juniors asking what they would like. After that we put it into a graph, and the maze was the most voted for. Then we went out to the yard and used chalk of where we wanted to put our line games. Then we took a video of where it is for the board.     

Change

For science the last term we were learning about change. I learnt that if you mix yeast, hot water, dish washing liquid and bleach and it will make elephants toothpaste. 

Science Change

For science this week we are learning about change. our experiment was mixing vinegar and baking soda. When we put the baking soda and vinegar in a bottle and mixed it it foamed up and when we pit the cork on it the cork blew of.

Calendar Art

For calendar art this week we have learnt to blend colours with paint. I really enjoyed painting but I found it  hard to get crisp lines. First we sketch on outline then we started at the top and worked down to the bottom.
 

Eating Hokey Pokey

For writing this week we ate Hokey Pokey and writ about it.First I had to make a success criteria, a success criteria is your goal for your writing. I did a description and I used the 5 census, the 5 census are look, hear, felt, smelled and tasted.

Novel Study

For around the last 3 weeks in reading we did a novel study. We read 3 books and did a y chart, a y chart is when you have 3 sides of a y and write on the sides like actions and more. We made y chart on the main character. The first story was Moving On and the main characters was Tess. The next story we read was Run Away Alien and the main character was keebo. The last story we read is the Mystery At Number 7 and the main character was Abby. We looked deep in to characters and found out what was the same about them and the different about them. My favorite story was the mystery at number 7 because they were trying to solve a mystery and I love soling mystery.Some the word I have from her y chart is She love chocolate cake she is the group leader.

Maori Weather

For inquiry we are learning about Maori weather. We learnt how to say how is the weather in Maori and that is ke te pehea te ahau o te rangi. I have 8 slides of Maori weather to say like fine is Kei te paki. We spent 2 week learning the Maori weather word.

In science we are learning about change. Change happens when you mix two reactant. When you mix two reactant a chemical reaction happened and after that it is a product. Today we mixed bleach and yeast and. When we mixed then it explode into foam.

In statistics we are learning to make a graph, we made a bar graph. We did favorite birthday cake flavor. Frist we went around asking people what there favorite cake is chocolate, red velvet, vanilla and cookies and cream. Then we put it into a bar graph.

Science

For the hole term we are learning about novel, asking questioning about story and characters. I know that there is a main character and the rest of the characters are called miner characters. I know the in a novel there is a problem and a solution to the problem. I know that good readers find out the answer even if it not in the book. Carnival

In reading I an learning about carnival, carnival is a party in Brazil. For the last two weeks I have been learning about carnival. I have been doing notes about carnival and activity's too. I found the word find easy and I found the word cross hard.

Food-Celebration

In Inquiry I am learning about food celebration. First we made a slide with contrary on it and put  celebration like Christmas. Then we took photo of our lunchbox and put it on the slide. Then we went into group and I went into Egypt. Then we pick out food my group got four food recipes and we picked one basbousa. We are going to have a party on Thursday with all the food the everyone is making. I found hard trying to say the words.

Costume

For writing I am drawing a costume, In reading we are also leaning about carnival. First I had to get a picture of the internet. Then I and to draw it on paper and then I had to label it.

Hangi

On Friday we are going to have a hangi outside. In inquiry we are leaning about hangi. The first activity I did was how to make a hangi. Then I did hangi happenings. I found fun doing how do make a hangi because we had to put it in the correct order.
   

Carnival

In literacy for the next two weeks I am going to learn and researching about Carnival what is celebrated in Brazil. I know that they like to dance and it is the biggest party in the world, If you know anything about Carnival please comment.

Chinese New Year

For the last two week we have been learning about chines new year. I have learnt lots about chines new year. We had to write note of.

Storm

In writing we have been learning to use . We got given a pitcher and planed on paper. Then we write we had use punctuation, use descriptive words and use your 5 senses. Then we edited we highlighted five description words and then we buddy checked. I found challenging punting the first senses in.

Measurement

In maths we are learning about measurement. Today we learnt about meters. Our task was to measure things in the class what we would think is a meter. We had to work out the difference between my guess and the actual measurement.

Chinese New Year

For the next two week we are going to learn about Chinese new year. I have all ready now that they let lanterns in to the night sky and I now that some of the people dress up as dragon. If you know anything about Chinese new year comment down bellow.

For writing this week we did a narrative. A narrative is interesting and needs to entertain.First we started a y chart then we did a burger plan. then we did a introduction and the problem and how you solved the problem.

Paper aeroplanes- measurement

In math we have been learning about measurement. We have been learning how to estimate and measure. I made a paper plan my teacher marked out a runway with a measuring tape. First a had to estimate how far my paper plane would go. I estimate 2.4 it actually flew 1.5. my second trow I estimated 7.5, It actually flew 6.8. I found hard making the paper aeroplan. I enjoyed trowing the paper aeroplan.

The Wizard

For writing we did the 6 sentence challenge. The first sentences we had to start with is once a upon time, then Introduce the main character, Introduce main character, describe this special talent, character problem, why does this character feel this way and how did they solve the problem.

Bird Feeder

This term in STEM we have been learning about to create a bird house and a bird feeder. First we designed and planed and then we created.I found building challenging because we couldn't cut the bottle open.

 

All About Me

For maths this week we learnt about measurement. We got put into 3 groups. My group did kahoot first so go check it out, and then we went to measuring our body parts in cm. The thing that I found challenging was the what body parts to measure.

Mainfreight truck

For maths this week Nicis dad how was Danny showed as his Mainfreight truck. We got to go inside the truck and their was a bed in the back behind the seats.

For literacy this week our group have been reading about pirates' plunder. We got given 7 questions and we had to answer. I was in a group with Sakiusa.

Last Thursday Whakarua and Punui-o-toka went to Spencer Park for a trip. When we were there we got to got to go to the beach. On the beach we had a challenge, we had to make a sand castle but with a lot of 3d shapes. We had pyramids, cubes, sphere and more but I forgot.
